Why was a sound removed from my video?
We remove sounds added to TikTok if we find that they violate copyright restrictions or our Community Guidelines. If you didn't add the original sound, you won't get a notification if this happens, but we'll provide details on the reason it was removed. You also have the option to replace the sound.
How do I check why a sound was removed from my video?
To view the reason why the sound was removed:
1. In the TikTok app, go to your muted video.
2. Tap View details at the bottom.
3. You'll see if the sound was removed for a copyright claim, Community Guidelines violation or both.
How do I change the sound on my muted video?
To replace the sound on your video:
1. In the TikTok app, go to your muted video.
2. Tap View details at the bottom.
3. Tap Change sound and choose a new sound. You can also trim the sound and adjust the volume.
4. Tap Post to complete.
