What is Add Yours on TikTok?
Add Yours allows you to interact with others on TikTok through a prompt that you can add to your video or respond to.
How to create an Add Yours
To add a prompt to your video:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the Add post + button and record or upload a video.
2. Tap the Add Yours button on the side of the camera or editing screen. You can also find Add Yours in Stickers on the editing screen.
3. Enter a prompt about any topic or select one of the suggested prompts. These prompts are suggested based on trending topics.
4. Finish editing your video and tap Next.
5. Write a description and adjust the video settings, then tap Post.
To add a prompt directly from another video:
1. Go to a video that contains an Add Yours prompt and tap the button to view more details.
2. Tap New topic to go to the camera screen.
3. Enter a prompt about any topic or select one of the suggested prompts. These prompts are suggested based on trending topics.
4. Record your video and tap Next.
5. Write a description and adjust the video settings, then tap Post.
Keep in mind:
• Add Yours is visible to everyone and anyone on TikTok can interact with them. If you respond to an Add Yours, you can adjust the privacy setting of your video if you don't want everyone to see it.
• We'll send you inbox notifications in the app when someone responds to your prompt. If you don't wish to be notified, you can turn off in-app messages for Mentions and tags.
• You can't delete an Add Yours button from your video once you post it. If you don't wish for your video to be associated with the Add Yours, you can change the video privacy setting or delete your video.
• We may add an Add Yours button to your video if it contains a popular topic to invite others to interact with your content. We'll notify you of this update and if you wish to remove this button from your video, you can contact us through the notification.
How to respond to an Add Yours
If you see a video that contains an Add Yours prompt, you can respond directly to it by creating a new video.
To respond to a prompt:
1. Go to a video that contains an Add Yours prompt and tap the button to view more details.
2. Tap Add yours to create a video.
3. Finish editing your video and tap Next.
4. Write a description and adjust the video settings, then tap Post.
Important things to know when you respond to an Add Yours:
• The creator of the original Add Yours, your mutual friends, and others who responded will be notified of your post.
• Depending on your video's privacy settings, your profile picture may be visible to others on the Add Yours button and your video may also be visible to others along with other responses.
How to manage Add Yours
You can view all of the Add Yours that you added and were invited to.
To view all Add Yours you've interacted with:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top.
3. Tap Creator tools.
4. Within More tools, tap Add Yours.
༚ In the Added tab, you'll see all of your Add Yours posts listed. If you haven’t posted any yet, you can create a new topic by tapping New topic.
༚ In the To add tab, you'll see prompts that you've been invited to create. Select a prompt to add to the topic.
To manage Add Yours privacy settings:
1. After tapping Creator tools, tap Add Yours.
2. Tap the More options … button.
3. Select who can invite you to add to a topic: Everyone, Following, Friends, or No one.
