You can share trending sounds, creators, or videos with friends, family, and your larger community within TikTok or through other social media platforms.
How to share posts on TikTok
To share a TikTok post:
1. In the TikTok app, go to the post.
2. Tap the Share button on the side of the post.
3. Choose how you'd like to share the post.
4. Follow the steps for the platform you select.
For some posts on the For You feed, we may prompt you to share them with people you may know or someone you interacted with on TikTok. Tap the prompt at the bottom of the post to share it with that person in a direct message.
Keep in mind that when you send a post to a friend on another platform, we'll also send that post to them on TikTok, provided they tap the shared link and allow direct messages from others.
To download a post that was shared with you:
1. In the TikTok app, go to the post.
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Tap Save photo or Save video. Only posts with download permissions turned on will display this option.
How to share a profile
To share your TikTok profile:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap Share profile.
3. Choose how you'd like to share your profile.
4. Follow the steps for the platform you select.
To share your TikTok profile through a QR code:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then tap My QR code.
3. Allow others to scan your QR code with their device camera or the in-app QR code scanner at the top of the screen.
To share another TikTok creator's profile:
1. In the TikTok app, go to the creator's profile.
2. Tap the profile picture or the Share button at the top.
3. Choose how you want to share the profile.
How to share a sound
To share a sound on TikTok:
1. In the TikTok app, go to the sound by tapping the Sound button at the bottom of a post or enter what you're looking for in the search bar at the top.
2. Tap the Share button at the top.
3. Choose how you'd like to share the sound.
How to share a hashtag
To share a hashtag on TikTok:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the hashtag in a post description, or enter the hashtag in the search bar at the top.
2. Tap the Hashtags tab below the search bar. You may need to scroll right.
3. Tap the hashtag you want to share, then tap the Share button at the top.
4. Choose how you'd like to share the hashtag.
