Text Size

To adjust text size on TikTok, complete the following steps:
1. Tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap Menu at the top.
3. Select Settings and Privacy.
4. Select Accessibility.
5. Select Text size. Use the slider to preview text sizes.
6. Tap Adjust to update your text size.

After adjusting the text for iOS, you will be exited from the app. You will need to manually restart the app. The Android version of TikTok will automatically restart itself. Once reopened, you will see your selected text size.

Note: Adjusting the font size in your device settings doesn't affect the text size in TikTok. You can only change the font size through the app settings.

Auto-generated captions

Auto-generated captions use speech recognition technology to generate text for audio or video content. Captions will be automatically generated for videos that you upload. This can help people who are deaf or hard of hearing to access content on TikTok.

How to manage auto-generated captions on your TikTok videos

To select the caption language:
1. In the TikTok app, upload a video.
2. On the Post screen, tap the More options … button.
3. Tap Select video language.
4. When you're done, tap Post. Eligible videos will show auto-generated captions based on the selected language.

To edit or remove auto-generated captions on a video from the edit video screen:
1. Tap the caption on your video.
2. Tap the Edit captions button.
3. Edit or remove any of the captions on your video.
4. Tap Save at the top to update the captions.

Creator captions

You can edit and design creator captions for your videos. For example, you can change the font style and color.

To turn on creator captions while creating a video:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the Add post + button at the bottom.
2. Record or upload a video, then continue to the editing screen.
3. Tap the Captions button on the side of the screen. Your video's speech audio will then automatically be transcribed into text.
༚  If you're using creator captions for the first time, you'll be prompted to turn on the feature by opting in.
4. Once captions are created, you can preview and edit each line. When you're ready, tap Save.

Text-to-speech

Text-to-speech allows text on a video to be read out loud for those who may need help reading text on the screen.

To use text-to-speech while creating a video:
1. Tap the Add post + button at the bottom to create a video.
2. Record or upload a video, then continue to the editing screen.
3. Tap Text on the side of the screen, then type out the text you would like to add to your video.
4. Tap on the line of text you would like to be read out loud, then select Text-to-speech.

Photosensitivity

We'll add a photosensitive warning to your videos if it contains TikTok effects that may cause visual sensitivity to others. Viewers can choose to opt out of watching and manage their video display preferences in account settings. Learn more about photosensitive videos on TikTok.
