What is Add Yours on TikTok?
The Add Yours feature allows you to interact with others on TikTok through prompts that you can respond to by adding to your posts.
How to create an Add Yours post
To add a prompt to your post:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the Add post + button at the bottom.
2. Upload a photo or video from your device, or tap the Camera button to take a photo or record a video.
3. Tap Add Yours on the side of the editing screen. You can also tap Stickers, then tap the Add Yours sticker.
4. Enter a prompt about any topic or select one of the suggested prompts based on trending topics, then tap Done.
5. Add text, effects, sound, a filter, and more, or use advanced editing tools.
6. Tap Next to make additional edits, then tap Post.
To add a prompt directly from another person's post:
1. Go to the post that contains an Add Yours prompt, then tap the button to view more details.
2. Tap New topic at the bottom.
3. Enter a prompt about any topic or select one of the suggested prompts based on trending topics, then tap Done.
4. Upload a photo or video from your device, or tap the Camera button to take a photo or record a video.
5. Add text, effects, sound, a filter, and more, or use advanced editing tools.
6. Tap Next to make additional edits, then tap Post.
A few things to know about creating Add Yours posts:
• Add Yours prompts are visible to everyone and anyone on TikTok can interact with them. If you respond to an Add Yours, you can adjust the privacy setting of your post if you don't want everyone to see it.
• We'll send you inbox notifications when someone responds to your prompt. If you don't want to be notified, you can turn off notifications for Mentions and tags.
• You can't delete an Add Yours button from your post after it's published. If you don't want your post to be associated with the Add Yours prompt, you can change the post's privacy settings or delete your post.
• We may add an Add Yours button to your post if it contains a popular topic to invite others to interact with your content. We'll notify you of this update and if you want to remove this button from your post, you can contact us through the notification.
How to respond to an Add Yours post
If you see a post that contains an Add Yours prompt, you can respond directly to it by creating a new post.
1. Go to the post that contains an Add Yours prompt, then tap the button to view more details.
2. Tap Add yours at the bottom to create a post.
3. Upload a photo or video from your device, or tap the Camera button to take a photo or record a video.
4. Add text, effects, sound, a filter, and more, or use advanced editing tools.
5. Tap Next to make additional edits, then tap Post.
A few things to know about responding to an Add Yours post:
• The creator of the original Add Yours post, your mutual friends, and others who responded to the prompt will be notified of your post.
• Depending on your post's privacy settings, your post may be visible to others. Your profile photo may also be visible to others on the Add Yours button.
How to view your Add Yours posts
You can view all of the Add Yours posts that you added, as well as prompts that you were invited to create, in TikTok Studio.
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select TikTok Studio.
3. Within More tools, tap Add Yours. From here:
༚ Tap the Added tab to see all of your Add Yours posts. If you haven’t posted any yet, tap New topic to create a new topic.
༚ Tap the To add tab to see prompts that you've been invited to create. Select a prompt to add to the topic.
