The mobile effect editor is a tool for creators to make personalized effects in the TikTok app. As a creator, you can make your own effects using makeup, stickers, filters, randomizers, green screens, and more.
What effects are in the mobile effect editor?
Learn about the different effect types you can use for your creations:
• Stickers: Add stickers to your effect. Attach your stickers to the face, hand, foreground, or background.
• Randomizer: Make an effect that randomly picks a text or image from a series of options from your own gallery or text of your choosing.
• Green Screen: Create effects that others can use with their own images to replace the green screen.
• Transformation: Play around with warp and face stretch to create transformative face effects.
• Visual effects: Layer dynamic effects like flashing, blurring, dissolving, and more to make your creations stand out.
How to create an effect
To create an original effect or start from a template:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the Add post + button at the bottom.
2. Tap the Effects button.
3. Scroll across and tap Create.
4. Tap Create effect.
5. Choose one or more of the effect types at the bottom:
༚ Tap Makeup, Stickers, Green Screen, and more to make an original effect.
༚ Tap Templates to use a template by itself, or modify a template with other effect types.
6. Tap Done when you're done editing your effect.
7. Tap the Add icon + button below Effect icon, then choose a model from the gallery or from your own album by tapping Recents.
8. Enter a name to describe your effect below Effect name.
9. Tap Submit to send your effect for review or tap Save as draft to edit later.
Keep in mind that once your effect is approved, it will be available for everyone to use on TikTok.
