What is For You on TikTok?

For You is a personalized feed of content based on your interests and engagement. The For You feed is the first feed you'll see when you open TikTok. The more you use TikTok, the more your For You feed will reflect your interests and show you creators and content you're likely to enjoy.

Why do you see certain posts on TikTok?

The For You feed recommends content based on several factors. To learn why a post was recommended to you, we share information alongside each post to help you understand why content appeared in your For You feed.

To learn why a post is recommended to you:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the Share button on the side of a post in the For You feed.
2. Tap Why this video. We'll list some reasons why a post shows up on your feed, such as:
༚  You commented on, liked, shared, or watched similar posts.
༚  This post is popular in your country.
༚  This post was created recently.
༚  This video is longer, and you seem to like longer videos.
   ༚  You're following this creator.

Keep in mind that if you've recently refreshed your For You feed, we'll show you some popular content to help us reshape your For You feed recommendations. Learn more about how we recommend content in the For You feed.

If you're a creator, keep in mind your posts must follow our Community Guidelines. If your content is not suitable for a broad audience, we may make it ineligible for the For You feed and may also make it harder to find in search.

How to manage your For You feed

You can use the following features to help influence the content you see on your For You feed or have new content recommended to you:
•  Not interested: If you don't care for a specific post, you can share feedback that you're not interested, and we'll show you fewer posts like that.
•  Refresh your feed: You can refresh your For You feed to help us reshape your For You feed recommendations.
•  Filter keywords: You can use filters to remove content containing specific words and their variations, and hashtags from your For You and Following feeds.
