Adding effects after recording 


After recording or uploading a video, you can add effects, edit text, and include stickers or emojis. To access more editing options, learn more about enhanced editing for your TikTok videos

To add text after recording or uploading a video:
1. Tap the Text button located on the side panel.
2. Provide your desired text and hold and drag the text to your desired spot on your video. Tap Done at the top to save your edits.
3. Select the desired font for your text. To customize the color of your text and background, tap the color wheel at the top. You can also change the alignment and add highlights to your text.
4. Press and hold the text to move the text to the desired spot on your video.
5. To zoom in and out, tap the desired clip. Using two fingers, slide outward or inwards on the text to adjust the size. Tap Done to save your edits.

To add a sticker or emoji after recording:
1. From the preview screen, tap the Stickers button on the side panel.
2. Select the Stickers or Emojis tab or search for animated GIFs.
3. Select an item, then hold and drag it to move your graphic to the desired spot on your video.

Note: Multiple text and stickers can be added to one video.

To delete text or stickers:
1. Press and hold the text or sticker you'd like to delete.
2. Move it to the top of the video until the Delete button appears.
3. Drag the text or sticker to the Delete button until it's selected, then release.

  




Adding a video cover 


A video cover is the thumbnail that previews your video in places like your profile or search results. You can select a video cover before posting a new video.

To select your video cover:
1. On the post screen, tap Select cover on the video thumbnail.
2. Drag and place the frame anywhere on the video.
3. Tap Save at the top.





Saving a draft 


To save a draft:
1. Record and edit your video.
2. Tap Drafts from the Post page.

Drafts are saved to the videos tab on your profile. Your drafts are only available to others when you post them.

Drafts may be removed for the following reasons:
1. TikTok has been uninstalled, then reinstalled on a device.
2. The account has been moved or switched to a different device. Keep

Keep in mind drafts can't be shared or transferred between various accounts.



  


Deleting a post


When you delete a post, it remains in our system for up to 30 days before being permanently deleted.

To delete a TikTok video:
1. Go to the video you want to delete.
2. Tap the More options ... button on the side of the video.
3. Tap Delete.






How to recover deleted TikTok posts


If a deleted post is still within the 30 day grace period, you can view it in your recently deleted folder. During this grace period, you can retrieve your deleted post and restore it to your TikTok profile.

To recover deleted posts:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select Settings and privacy.
3. Select Activity center, then tap Recently deleted to see posts that have been recently deleted within the past 30 days.
4. Tap on the post you'd like to restore.
5. Tap Restore to recover your deleted post. Your recovered post will reappear in your profile.

Once you restore a recently deleted TikTok post, you'll also recover all associated comments and likes.

Note: If you made a Stitch or Duet video and the original creator deleted the video and all of its Duets and Stitches, you can't recover your video. However, if the original video remains active and you delete your Duet or Stitch, you can still recover your video.
