What is a bulletin board on TikTok?
The bulletin board is an in-app channel for eligible creators to communicate and engage with their followers. As a creator, you can open your own board and publish customized bulletins to stay in touch and share updates with your followers.
How to create a bulletin board
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom. From here:
༚ If you receive a banner notifying you about bulletin boards, tap Try it to get started.
༚ Tap the Chat button at the top.
2. Tap Create a bulletin board.
3. Turn the Show on profile setting on or off to change the visibility of your bulletin board.
4. Tap Create to open your bulletin board.
Note: You can have one active bulletin board at a time. Only your followers can join and they'll receive a one-time notification to join once it's created.
How to edit a bulletin board
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom.
2. Tap your bulletin board to enter. From here:
༚ Tap Change image to add a personalized bulletin profile photo.
༚ Enter a desired name with up to 40 characters. Keep in mind that names must adhere to our Community Guidelines.
༚ Add an optional description of up to 140 characters.
How to share your bulletins
To share text bulletins:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom.
2. Tap your bulletin board to enter, then tap Write a bulletin at the bottom.
3. Enter text up to 1,000 characters.
4. Tap Send, or close the page to save it to your drafts.
To share photo bulletins:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom.
2. Tap your bulletin board to enter, then tap the Add + button at the bottom.
3. Tap Camera. You'll need to grant the app access to your camera and photo album. From here, you can:
༚ Tap the Record button to take a photo.
༚ Tap Upload to select a photo from your photo album.
4. Add text, stickers, or a filter to your photo.
5. Tap Send.
To share post, LIVE event, and music cards:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom.
2. Tap your bulletin board to enter, then tap the Add + button at the bottom.
3. Tap Posts to choose from Your posts or Favorite posts.
4. Tap Send.
Keep in mind that you can post up to 3 bulletins per day on your bulletin board. Any of the above bulletins counts as one quota.
How to delete a bulletin
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom.
2. Tap your bulletin board to enter, then press and hold the bulletin and tap Delete. From here, you can:
༚ Tap Delete for everyone within 3 minutes of publishing the bulletin.
༚ Tap Delete for me after 3 minutes of publishing the bulletin. People who have joined the board will still see the bulletin.
Keep in mind that a deleted or recalled bulletin still counts towards the daily quota of 3.
How to manage your bulletin board
You can change your bulletin board details, manage its visibility, and close or permanently delete your board.
1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom. You can also enter it through your profile.
2. Tap your bulletin board to enter the page.
3. Tap the More options ... button at the top of your bulletin board. From here, you can:
༚ Tap Edit at the top to change your board photo, name, and description. You can save your edits once per day.
༚ Turn the Show on profile setting on to display your bulletin board on your profile.
༚ Turn the Pin to top of Inbox setting on to pin your bulletin board.
༚ Tap Close bulletin board, then tap Close to confirm.
Keep in mind that after closing the bulletin board, people who have joined can still see the history, but they can't comment on or engage with your bulletins.
Once you've closed your bulletin board, you can:
• Create a new board, but the old board can't be restored if you choose to create a new one.
• See all your public bulletins, or choose to delete any of the previous bulletins for yourself.
• Reopen your bulletin board within 30 days of closing the board. After 30 days, the board will be deleted.
• Delete your bulletin board permanently by following the above steps for closing.
